Man Faces Charge Of Assault Of Peace Officer
Theodore James Crowe is facing three charges including the felony count of assault of a peace officer after an incident in Culbertson on Aug. 27.
Misdemeanor charges are assault and disorderly conduct.
According to court documents, deputies went to Culbertson after a report of a male running around chasing cars on Broadway Avenue near the county building. Deputies found Crowe laying near an intersection. He appeared intoxication and was unable to sit up. He denied drinking any alcohol or taking any drugs.
Emergency Medical Services arrived and took Crowe to the Roosevelt Medical Center.
A short time later, the Culbertson ambulance requested that a deputy respond to the emergency room because Crowe was becoming combative. He allegedly attempted to bite a physician, called nurses names and threatened to kill staff.
When a deputy attempted to handcuff Crowe to the hospital bed, Crowe curled his legs in and kicked the deputy on the right side of the head. After deputy told Crowe he was being placed under arrest, Crowe became very combative and made threats.
A short time later, Crowe kicked a nurse in the lower right side of her back. Crowe was sedated so his treatment could continue. After being discharged, he was taken to the Roosevelt County Detention Center in Wolf Point.
