Jensen-Rowe Trial Still Set For Sept. 29

A pre-trial conference hearing in the Brianna Jensen- Rowe case was conducted in Wolf Point on Monday, Aug. 18.

Jensen-Rowe, 19, is accused on killing her sister Jalinn Marie Jensen-Rowe on Aug. 3, 2024, in Wolf Point.

Defense attorney Gerald Harris said an evaluation performed by Dr. Smelko, a clinical psychologist, was received just earlier that day of the conference. Harris said the 11-page evaluation goes into greater depth than a previous Indian Health Services report.

Harris said he feels the evaluation will have a lot of impact on the disposition. He added he wants to go through the evaluation more with Jensen- Rowe. Harris requested another pre-trial conference.

State attorney Eric Kitzmiller said, “We’re prepared to go forward to trial in this matter.”

Judge Benjamin Fosland scheduled another pre-trial conference. The 10-day trial is still set to start on Sept. 29.

A person convicted of deliberate homicide could be punished by death, by life imprisonment or by imprisonment in the state prison for a term of not less than 10 years or more than 100 years.

According to court records, including an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice officer was dispatched at approximately 8:18 p.m. on Aug. 3, 2024, for a reported stabbing.
