Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 112 calls during Aug. 18-25.

The calls included the following: Aug. 18

Deputies responded to the Poplar city limits for a report of a burglary to a residence. Someone broke into the basement of an apartment. Some tools were missing. Damage was done. There are no suspects at this time. Deputy/coroner assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice with an unattended death in the Wolf Point area. An elderly male passed away at a residence. No foul play is suspected.

Deputies responded to Culbertson for a family disturbance regarding two males arguing and having the incident turn physical. Neither party wanted to press charges.

Aug. 19

Deputies responded to Poplar regarding an intoxicated adult female who refused to leave the hospital’s lobby. Deputies stood by as she left the building. The female then returned. FPTDLJ assisted on the call. When deputies tried to remove the female, she bit a deputy. Aaliyah Whiteman, 26, Lame Deer, was charged with disorderly conduct, hindering law enforcement, risking the protection of law officials and criminal trespass.

Aug. 20 Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department as Ira Follet Jr., 28, was arrested on the authority of a warrant.

Aug. 22

Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to Tande Grocery in Poplar on a report of two males who tried to stab the milk delivery man. FPTDLJ caught a juvenile male involved in the incident.

Aug. 23

Deputies responded to Culbertson for a report of a 5-year-old running on property unsupervised. A parent was cited regarding the lack of supervision of a child.

Aug. 23

Deputies assisted the Montana Highway Patrol with a pickoff that rolled over on Highway 16. Culbertson hospital also responded. The driver was taken to the Culbertson hospital for treatment.

Aug. 24

Deputies responded to the Poplar airport addition for a report of youth throwing rocks at a house.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, eight; Wolf Point rural, two; Wolf Point, FPHA, one; Poplar city limits, 28; Poplar rural, four; Poplar FPHA all other, 11; Poplar FPHA airport addition, one; Culbertson town, nine; Culbertson rural, nine; Bainville town, seven; Bainville rural, 12; Froid town, one; Froid rural, one; any other area, one; Brockton town, five; Fort Kipp, 11; Oswego, one; total, 112.
