Wolf Point Holding Wild Horse Stampede July 10-12

Rodeos, parades and a variety of other entertainment are looked forward to as Wolf Point prepares to celebrate its 102nd annual Wild Horse Stampede on July 10-12.

The list of activities actually begins on Wednesday, July 9, with the third annual Wild Horse Ranch Rodeo at the Marvin Brookman Stadium. A pitchfork fondue meal costs $20 and begins at 4:30 p.m. in Big Sky Corral. The rodeo starts at 6 p.m., and kicks off with the first Weyrauch Memorial Wild Horse Race. A concert featuring Kenny Feidler takes place after the ranch rodeo.

The Wild Horse Stampede rodeo is scheduled for Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m. each night. Thursday is Tough Enough To Wear Pink Night. The Fort Peck Sioux Honor Song and Dancers will perform at 6:30 p.m., prior to Thursday night’s rodeo.

The annual Tough Enough To Wear Pink golf tournament begins at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course.

The Wolf Point Community Organization will host a community feed starting at 5 p.m. at the Wadopana Grounds. The animal fun day, sponsored by Spotted Bull Treatment Center, begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday at the Wadopana Grounds. The powwow begins at 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Wadopana Grounds.

The large and highly anticipated parades start at 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday down Main Street. Theme of this year’s parade is “Rodeo: A Family Game Night.”

When you need a great bite to eat, residents are reminded that the famous Catholic Hamburger Stand is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday along with 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The carnival will be available starting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

A busy Saturday kicks off with the museum’s benefit breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m.

The Human Stampede run, sponsored by Northeast Montana Health Services, is scheduled to start at 8 a.m.

The Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce presents Art in the Park and family activities at Sherman Park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. A stick horse rodeo featuring Miss Rodeo Teen is set for 2 p.m. at the Faith Home lawn.

A concert after Saturday’s rodeo will feature Olivia Harms and the Roadrunners.
