Ricker Earns Honor At Class B State Meet
The Poplar boys’ golf team and Wolf Point’s eighth-grader Maia Kent competed at the Class B state golf meet held in Shelby.
Zach Munding of Missoula Loyola Sacred Heart had a two-day score of 146 to win the individual state title.
Poplar’s Kaniel Ricker finished in 13th place with an overall score of 162 after rounds of 74 and 88. The top 15 golfers earn All-State status.
Navarjo Escarcega had rounds of 86 and 93 for 179 overall to tie for 26th place.
Lukas Young took 74th with an overall score of 198. Gavyn Grainger placed 77th with a score of 227. Blake Lambert was 79th with a two-day score of 244.
The top three boys’ teams were Jefferson, Three Forks and Malta.
Florence-Carlson earned first in the girls’ division followed by Shelby and Lone Peak.
Kipley Solari of Florence- Carlton finished with a two-day score of 165 for medalist honors.
Wolf Point’s Kent tied for 52nd place with a score of 230. Her rounds were 112 and 118.
