Frank Wiers
Frank R. Wiers, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in Bozeman on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 78.
Born and raised in Wolf Point, Mont., Frank’s life took a significant turn after graduating from Wolf Point High School in 1965. He enlisted in the Navy, serving for four years before returning home. It was during this time that he met his beloved wife, Mary Zeiger, and they embarked on a journey together, raising three children: Jason, Justin “Jud” and Crystal. Their family was cherished in Glasgow, where Frank dedicated his life to hard work and providing for his loved ones.
Frank’s professional life was marked by dedication and perseverance. He honed his skills as a welder, then transitioned to the role of custodian at Glasgow Middle School before joining the U.S.P.S. After an impressive 25 years of service at the Wolf Point and Glasgow Post Offices, Frank retired in 2012 and enjoyed retirement from his recliner.
Frank found joy in various hobbies. He liked to hunt and fish, and in his younger years, he showcased his talent as a stock car driver. His passion for tinkering and fixing things was evident in every corner of his life.
Frank’s greatest joy was being a grandfather, affectionately known as “Papa” to his five grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them, traveling frequently to Bozeman and beyond to witness their sports and school activities. In 2014, Frank and Mary made the decision to relocate to Belgrade, seeking closer proximity to their children and grandchildren.
Frank developed Parkinson’s in the early 2000s and, unfortunately, his health began to decline after moving. Despite his best efforts to manage the condition, it progressively worsened over the years. This ultimately led to his passing after he developed an infection one month ago.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lois Wiers; father and mother-in-law, George and Esther Zeiger; aunts, Helen Whitmus and Mary Birmingham; brothers-in-law, Bill Zeiger, George Zeiger and Bill Kuki; and nieces, Lynn Kuki and Denise Kuki.
Frank is survived by his wife, Mary, of 55 years; sons, Jason Wiers (Nikki) and Jud Wiers; daughter, Crystal Terry (John); honorary daughter, Deniel Campbell (Ryan); grandchildren, Cody Wiers, Kayli Wiers, TJ Wiers, Hunter Terry (Emiley) and Luke Terry; brother, Ken Wiers (Claryce), and their daughters Barbie Wiers and Christine Tormey (Andy); and uncle, Bill Whitmus, his son Wade Whitmus (Shelley). He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Louise Kuki, her daughter Michelle Neuman (James); Rita Berlinger, her daughters Marie Zeiger, Sandy Beaudette (Ross), and son Jeff Zeiger (Jessica); Evelyn Cornett, her daughter Cindy Twogood and son Cory Cornett; Carol Forbes (Pete), their daughters Mollie Anderson (Tim) and Katy Forbes; JoAnn Zeiger; and numerous great-nieces and -nephews.
Services will be held on May 15 at Dahl Funeral & Cremation Service in Bozeman at 1 p.m. A reception will follow after interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org in his honor.
