Oil Revenue Increasing For County

The amount of funds that Roosevelt County is receiving through increased oil activity slowly keeps growing.
For the quarter ending on Dec. 31, 2024, Roosevelt County received a total of $2,029,946 in distributions. Total collections amount to $4.440.924 with the state keeping $2,410,978.
Roosevelt County maintains $792,085, which are divided among the county’s departments. The rest of the funds are distributed to schools and cities.
The amount that school districts receive is based on oil activity in that school district. The Bainville School District tops county schools with $587,620 received. The Culbertson School District received $141,645. Other amounts include $30,368 for Poplar and $11,308 for Froid.
Other funds are $201,573 for elementary retirement, $149,607 for high school retirement and $55,620 for countywide transportation.
Roosevelt County’s distribution figure of $2,029,946 puts it as the second highest county in Montana. Richland County tops the list with collections of $18,279,836 and distributions of $8,677,438. Fallon County is third with collections of $4,281.131 and distributions of $1,788.656.
Powder River stands fourth with collections of $1,960.552 and distributions of $1,193.976. Valley County had $78,697 in collections and $40,474 in distributions.
