The MB church hosted the community Good Friday Service with Pastor Hathaway as the speaker. Pastor Lenihan gave introductory thoughts, comparing “the Lord’s Supper to a family reunion. With opportunity to talk deeper, strengthen the family relationships and make anything right that needs to be addressed, remembering the Lord’s sacrifice on our behalf together as a body of believers is like a family reunion. It gives opportunity to examine oneself and make things right with people. “Without the shedding of blood there would be no forgiveness,” the Scripture says. But as Romans says, “The Blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin. God’s wrath on us was deflected.” “Life is fragile. This moment we have, to come with open hands.”

Pastor Hathaway spoke from Romans 5:1-5, giving five benefits that resulted from Good Friday. 1. Acceptance. “God’s justice was fully satisfied by Jesus paying the penalty for our sin. We have peace With God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Eph. 1:6). 2. Access. “We cannot work our way into a standing with God. Access is first based on grace, second it gives a right to enter, and third it gives the confidence to pray and be heard. As one would need an introducer to meet a President, Christ is that introducer to enter God’s Presence. He is the only One who can give access to God. (John 14:6).” 3. Assertion. “There were many infallible proofs in the fulfilled prophecies of the Hebrew prophets. We can have a sure and certain confidence in the Word of God. For example, the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey was prophesied in Daniel and fulfilled to the exact day, April 6, AD 33.” 4. Affliction. “We are told to glory in tribulation. They have a purpose to conform one to His image (Romans 8, I John 3).” 5. Assurance. “Based on God’s Word, we can know we are saved. Christ in us gives us confidence to hold fast, to focus on Him instead of the trials of life.” (James 1, Acts).

We are very glad to have Dean and Julie Reddig back with us, as of April 12, after their time in Arizona.

Leslie Heidner was honored at a supper for his 75th birthday at Dwaine and Vivian Wall’s. The Lenihan family gathered in Billings to celebrate Elijah’s 21st birthday on Easter Sunday evening, April 20. Brad and Amanda (his sister) flew in from Virginia with their family for the event. McKaylah Lenihan and Tim and Annie Lenihan were also present.
