JOM Plans Spring Round Dance

The Wolf Point School District’s JOM (Johnson-O’Malley) committee is planning a spring round dance for May 14 from 5-7 p.m. at the powwow grounds. The celebration is for third, sixth, eighth and 12th grade students.

“It’s for every grade moving up to a different school,” Mandi Campbell, club secretary, said.

Promotional gifts for eighth graders and high school seniors will also be given at that time.

The free round dance event will feature a french braiding contest, a street clothes dance, two cake walks along with other contests.

JOM will provide traveling tacos as a meal.

The group also agreed to provide enough bottles of water for 220 students when Southside holds its field day on May 13.

JOM might also fund prizes for Southside’s spelling bee.

JOM president Imogene Lilley reminds principals that the deadline for reports is May 1.

Wolf Point’s JOM now meets on the first Thursday of each month starting at 5:30 p.m. in the high school/ junior high library. The next meeting is May 1.
