Tough Enough To Wear Pink Nears $100,000 In Local Giving
Due to the generosity of area residents and businesses, the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede’s Tough Enough To Wear Pink campaign is nearing $100,000 raised during its existence.
The program, which benefits the Northeast Montana Health Services’ mammography department, began in 2009 with donated funds of $880.77 for that year.
For 2026, funds raised were $7,434 which includes a $2,500 gift from Tough Enough To Wear Pink Of Montana.
Other funds for 2026 included $1,600 from the Stampede golf tournament sponsored by HUB Insurance, $844 from the pink boot cash donations, $470 in tips at concessions, $500 from pink six-pack coolers, $500 from the Lucky Cowboy Program, $400 from Blue Rock/Mike’s Pink Hard Lemonade and $520 from pink cotton candy sales.
The overall total since 2009 now stands at $99,551.47.
“It’s been on a steady increase about every year,” Nicole Paulson, chief nursing officer and the Stampede committee’s secretary, said. “Even with the economy like it is, people are still making donations, which is nice.”
The best year as far as funds raised was the centennial celebration of 2023 when $10,536 was raised.
A total of $7,249 was raised in 2024 and $8,490 in 2025.
On a related note, the Wolf Point High School volleyball program will have its Pink Night on Thursday, Oct. 22, when the Wolves take on Glasgow starting at 5 p.m. Activities will include a Chinese auction full of prize baskets, a bake sale and a 50/50 raffle. All donations and proceeds will go toward the Northeast Montana Health Services’ radiology and mammography program.
