Handran Appreciates Farm Lifestyle, Work

Scobey Senior

Scobey High School senior Bryce Handran enjoys running and has been a valuable member of the school’s cross country program since the seventh grade.

He explains that part of the reason why he became interested in the sport was that his older sister, Mia, was a standout for the Spartans. Mia is now competing for Dickinson State University in North Dakota.

Bryce has also experienced success as he has qualified for the state meet each year.

“I just want to get a better time overall,” Handran said of his goal for the current season.

As far as hobbies, he likes to farm and help his father, Gary, on the family farm.

“I like being around cattle and at my dad’s side,” Bryce explained.

In the classroom, his favorite subject is ag mechanics.

“It’s just working on engines, hands-off stuff that you need in life,” Handran said of the class.

His favorite teacher is Pat Hardy.

“He’s real helpful to all students,” Handran said of Hardy.

After high school, Handran plans to stay in the area and work on the family farm.
