Fourstar Enjoys Role On Cheer Team

Wolf Point High School senior Vanessa Fourstar is enjoying the thrill of being a cheerleader for the second straight year.

“I like the people that I’m surrounded with,” Fourstar said of being on the cheer team.

She explained she tried out for the team after being encouraged by a friend.

“So I gave it a shot,” Fourstar said. “I like it a lot.”

Another activity that Fourstar enjoys is playing softball. She has participated in the sport for nine years.

Her positions in softball have included catcher, softball and third base.

A highlight for her came when the Lady Yellowjackets won the league championship tournament this past summer. She enjoyed a good tournament including hitting two inside-thepark home runs.

“I was confident even though we didn’t have a lot of practices,” Fourstar said of the team.

Her hobbies include hanging out with friends, drawing and family activities.

Her favorite class is art. “I feel that it’s another way of expressing myself,” Fourstar explained.

Along with drawing, she also likes doing paper mache projects. “It’s a little messy but fun,” she added.

Her favorite teacher is Will Larsen. “He’s very honest and funny,” Fourstar said.

After high school, she plans to attend Minot State University in North Dakota and become a wildlife biologist.

“I’m a really big animal person,” she said.
