Double Tab, by Don Bentley and Vince Flynn is #25 in the Mitch Rapp series. This storyline continues with the American assassin taking Mitch Rapp on a mission to infiltrate a jihadi group with access to weapons of mass destruction!
A Pakistani scientist is kidnapped by a terrorist cell and their plan is to force him to come up with more ways to terrorize the rest of the world. This is the same scientist that Rapp is tasked with eliminating! So, Mitch goes undercover, take this guy out, and stop the terrorists from any further mayhem!
This story may be part of this series, but it stands on its own very well. Such an exciting read, with the last pages flying by, you better hang on.
Shadow Before the Flame, by Catherine Grace Katz is a historical non-fiction that takes place during World War II. This book will bring to life the tragic Hindenburg disaster and go on to bring in focus the beginning of WWII.
Many things we think we know about this may be challenged after reading this book. It is highly researched, and it will surprise you with facts that are not well known. Did you know that the fire occurred at takeoff? That is incorrect. And that there was a Nazi flag on the tail of the ship? How about survivors of the fire and subsequent crash? Those are true!
Did you know when the ship took off, it was to the song, A Mighty Fortress is Our God? The book also covers the scientific details, the political maneuverings and how the aviation industry was caught up in it all.
Library hours are Monday- Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday 10 a.m to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lego Club will meet Sept. 24, for grades K-sixth. This is a change from the previous k-fourth. It runs from 4-5:30 p.m.
The week of Sept. 21-26, is Count Week for all Montana Libraries. We have patron surveys available, either paper or digital. Stop by and let us know how we are doing, and any other services that we can add to our wonderful community!
Our second annual Soup-Ber Bowl is being held Oct. 1, from 4-7 p.m. at the library. It’s not too late to sign up to bring a pot of your best soup and compete to win the trophy! Our goal is to raise money to bring our facilities up to ADA standards!
Friends of the Library Silent Auction begins Oct. 5, and runs through Oct. 15, ending at 4 p.m. SHARP. We are accepting donations at this time! Stop by and get your bidder number, you won’t be disappointed. Tons of fun items, baked goods, gift certificates, homemade pickles, jams, quilts, the list goes on. Funds raised are used exclusively for Daniels County Library.
