Fort Peck/FEMA Assistance Center Remains Open
The Fort Peck/FEMA Assistance Center remains open to help applicants who have already applied for FEMA assistance. Specialists at the assistance center can help applicants appeal FEMA’s decision if they were found ineligible. They can also help submit appeals for applicants who qualified for assistance but disagree with the amount of funding received.
Applicants have 60 days to appeal from the date on the decision letter sent to applicants. FEMA usually makes a decision regarding the appeal within 3090 days of receiving the appeal.
Specialists are available to help applicants update existing applications, and can accept and upload required documents, and check on application status.
What to bring with you to submit an appeal: You can appeal any FEMA decision or award amount by providing documents that show you qualify and need more help, like estimates for repairs, receipts, bills, etc. Although not required, it may be helpful to provide a brief statement alongside your appeal documents to better explain the basis of your appeal.
Each decision letter you receive from FEMA explains types of documents that may help you appeal your FEMA decision or award amount for that type of assistance.
Supporting documents may include:
• Receipts
• Bills
• Repair estimates
• Property titles or deeds
• Insurance documents
• Any other information that may support the reasons for the appeal.
The Fort Peck/FEMA Assistance Center is located inside the Wolf Point Community Center at 515 6th Ave S. Hours are Monday- Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
