It’s been hot and fields are ripening nicely. The smoke from forest fires came through a couple days and our hearts are burdened for the folks in the Spokane, Wash., area who lost homes, and endure such travesty at the hands of arson. We can only pray for firefighters and that some good will come as many people help, asking God for rain.
Nemont announced that Nathan Fast has been awarded the prestigious FRS scholarship. FRS stands for Foundation for Rural Service Scholarship. “Out of more than 2,000 applicants nationwide, Nathan was one of just 60 students selected. The FRS highlighted his outstanding academic dedication and rural pride.”
Nathan will attend MSU Northern this fall to study automotive technology and welding. He is the son of Jerry and Susan Fast of Frazer and a 2026 graduate of Lustre Christian High School. We add our congratulations and best wishes.
The school year for 2026-27 is coming fast. Lustre Grade School begins Aug. 19, and LCHS begins Aug. 17. Among the new things they look forward to is an improved science lab!
