Cape Air Plans To Bring Commemorative Aircraft Celebrating Nation’s 250th Anniversary
Cape Air recently unveiled a newly designed commemorative aircraft livery honoring and in partnership with America250, the national, nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to lead the commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The custom-painted Cessna 402c aircraft will serve as a flying tribute across Cape Air’s network, celebrating the nation’s history while inspiring reflection on its future. The airline will bring it as a static display to the upcoming Yellowstone International Airshow in Billings on Aug. 22-23.
The tentative plan is for the aircraft to be at the airports in both Wolf Point and Glasgow on Tuesday, Aug. 18.
The aircraft design features a bold red, white, and blue color palette with patriotic striping, stars, and dynamic motion elements symbolizing unity and progress. A defining highlight of the livery is the phrase, “We the People,” prominently displayed on the belly of the aircraft. This is an intentional and meaningful placement that becomes visible in flight, representing the foundational principle of American democracy and serving as a reminder that the nation’s story belongs to all.

The commemorative aircraft will operate throughout Cape Air’s network, bringing the America250 message to communities across the United States. Passengers traveling on the aircraft will experience a unique visual reminder of the milestone anniversary.

The commemorative livery was designed with Scheme Designers, whose team brought the America250 vision to life, ensuring every detail reflects the significance of this historic milestone.
