Additional Firefighters Needed In Wolf Point

When the fire siren goes off, volunteers are counted on to respond regardless of the day or the time.

Wolf Point Chief of Police Wayne Kegley is hoping to find additional volunteers to answer the call to make it easier to provide as much service as possible.

“We need more people in town that can come when others are working,” Kegley explained. “We need dependable and reliable people to put the effort in.”

Currently, the fire department has 18 volunteers. Kegley would like to have 22 individuals in the department.

Kegley has volunteered for 9-10 years and is one of the oldest in the department.

“You get to help our community,” Kegley said of why he volunteers. “You can show that you want to help protect and serve the community.”

Training is done locally. The Wolf Point Volunteer Fire Department holds trainings the third Tuesday of each month.
