Froid Council Holds July Meeting
The regular meeting of the Froid Town Council was called to order at 6:30 p.m. on July 13 at the Community Center. Mayor Sheri Crain was in attendance, as were council members Gale Strandlund, Tyler Harris and Laurie Young.
The council meeting minutes from the June 8 meeting were read aloud and approved.
Public works director Alan Engelke was present to provide a report. He has replaced or repaired a few additional curb stops. He placed the large rock painted by Annle Radabah for America’s 250th at the Northern Lights Park.
Engelke also reported that it was brought to his attention that nonresidents have been using the tree pile.
He also said the in-town lift station generator is st11 having issues. He is hoping the annual maintenance providers will have some ideas for fixing it.
It was reported the water depot has been consistently used by two companies. Engelke said there is potential for increased use for fracking operations in the future and said that he will be getting more details.
Clerk LeAnn Johnson reported all invoices have been sent in for reimbursement for American Rescue Plan Act projects. She said the town is waiting to receive and sign the final draw papers drafted by Great West Engineering.
During the review of delinquent accounts, it was noted that several letters have been sent to delinquent account holders. Those account holders will have 30 days from July 1 to pay their account in full or a tax lien will be filed.
Council looked over the building permit submitted on behalf of the Froid School for the construction of an 80 x 80 x 14 bus barn on school property. The plan was approved.
Engelke reported that with the recent heavy rains, several leaks have been detected on the shop side of the town o_ce building. Mayor Crain said she will call Ellerkamp Construction to come take a look at it, as they were the contractors that did the origina1 repairs.
The next meeting is set for Aug. 10.
