City Council Approves Police Department Upgrades
The Wolf Point City Council held its regular meeting June 15. During public comment, representatives from Northeast Montana Health Services appeared to request action on some damaged asphalt at Faith Lutheran Home. Mayor Chris Dschaak said city crews were not responsible for the aging infrastructure.
“What I would be willing to do,” Dschaak said, “is refer this back to the water and sewer improvements committee. [...] I would like to know the facts of exactly what happened and we can go from there.”
City Attorney Montana Wilson informed the council about details regarding his appointment as council for the Poplar Town Council. He said Wolf Point would take priority during any conflicts between Poplar and the city. Approved related amendments were approved.
Greg Lukasik gave the council an update about ongoing water and sewer improvements projects. He said there would be some weekend work for crews in coming weeks.
The council heard updates on the potential sale of Triangle Park, including the need to select another area that had not previously been used for recreation to turn into a park.
At the request of Wolf Point Police Chief Anthony Cambridge, a transfer of $50,000 was approved from department salaries to vehicle upgrades and maintenance.
The council approved the resignation of Lance FourStar. He thanked the council for the opportunity to serve and said he is moving to a different ward.
