Far Out And Waiting Training Thursday

Montana Farmer’s Union is hosting another installment of its Far Out and Waiting series of preparedness trainings covering what to do while waiting for emergency medical and fire services to arrive in remote areas.

The free training is open to everyone. Speakers will include Samantha Purvis, Mike Olson and other area EMTS and fire department members. Purvis extended a personal invite to the community on social media April 6: “Plan to attend our community education event on April 16 at the Culbertson School cafeteria,” said Purvis. “We’ll start at 5:30 p.m. with dinner prepared and served by Culbertson FFA, then we’ll move on to the presentation.”

Topics to be covered will include allergic reactions, bleed control/cardiac arrest, stroke, diabetic emergency, home hardening, evacuation preparation and what to expect when you call 911.
