Social Media Threat Leads To School Cancellation
There was no school in Wolf Point and Frontier on Tuesday, March 17, due to a threat of violence made on social media.
Wolf Point Superintendent of Schools Dr. David Perkins said law enforcement contacted him about the threat at about 5 a.m. on Tuesday.
At that point, the decision was made to see if law enforcement could look at leads and positively determine the individual who made the threat. Law enforcement offered to provide protection at Wolf Point High School throughout the day.
Perkins made the decision to cancel classes at about 6 a.m. and notification was sent to families.
“I rather err on the side of caution,” he said.
Perkins said he also notified the school board and was in contact with Frontier and Frazer school officials.
On Tuesday morning, Perkins was confident that classes would resume Wednesday.
