Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 149 calls from Feb. 23 through March 1.
The calls included the following: Feb. 23
Deputies received a report of a stolen laptop from the school in Tioga, N.D. A trace provided an IP address that the laptop was in Wolf Point. Deputies forwarded the report to tribal prosecutors. The case is still under investigation.
Feb. 24
Doing a patrol in Culbertson, a deputy saw an adult female who is on the warrant’s list going into a business. Lacey Lone Bear, 41, was placed under arrest on authority of the warrant.
Deputies investigated a report that an adult male from Plentywood has been living in Roosevelt County, north of Poplar. He was registered as a violent offender in Sheridan County. Xavier Jamal Alvarado, 27, was arrested for failure to register as a violent offender and unlawful possession of firearms.
Feb. 25
Deputies responded to Tande’s Grocery in Poplar where an employee discovered drugs on the premises. The drugs tested positive for meth. Deputies disposed of the drugs.
Deputies responded to Fort Kipp for a domestic violence report. An adult female said she was in an argument with her adult sister. It was also reported that the second female was pregnant and drinking alcohol. When the female was located, she admitted that she is pregnant and had been drinking alcohol. Devyn Lizotte, 23, was arrested for endangering the welfare of an unborn child, substance abuse and assault with bodily fluids.
Feb. 26
Deputies and the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice responded to the emergency room of Poplar’s hospital where a treated adult male reported that another adult male hit him on the head with a machete. The case is still under investigation.
Feb. 28
Deputies responded to the Bainville area regarding an emergency signal made from a phone. The phone was traced to an elderly male. Family members said the male was fine, and that the signal made was an accident.
March 1
Deputies, the Montana Highway Patrol and FPTDLJ responded when another vehicle struck a FPTDLJ officer’s vehicle in Poplar. Officers located the suspect near the American Legion supper club. FPTDLJ arrested the male.
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to Albertson’s regarding an adult male with an active warrant. Josh Flaten, 32, was arrested on authority of the warrant.
