WPCO Endorses Black Wolf For Senate
The Wolf Point Community Organization unanimously endorsed Michael Black Wolf for U.S. Senate during its monthly meeting held on Monday, Feb. 16.
Black Wolf was one of three candidates who spoke at the meeting. Also sharing their views were Sam Lux, who is running for U.S. representative, and State Sen. Jonathan Windy Boy.
Black Wolf, a Democrat, is seeking the position currently held by U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, a Republican. Black Wolf warned that the Big Beautiful Bill is part of the implementation of Project 2025’s goals.
He said there is no room for Native Americans, minorities and women in the policy.
He added that he will work for every day Montanans including tribal members. Black Wolf said the campaign isn’t a traditional race, but it’s “top” versus the “bottom.” The “top” consists of ultra-rich billionaires, Blackwolf explained.
Lux said he has been visiting with people across the state to hear about their biggest concerns.
He feels rural communities are being ignored. He said goals for him include better health care, improved mental health services and more job opportunities.
State Sen. Windy Boy said he is considering a campaign for the U.S. representative position after being encouraged by others.
Windy Boy said the SAVE (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility) Act would send the country back hundreds of years.
WPCO also approved a motion made by Lance FourStar to work with the Native Vote Coalition.
