Mary Alice Hinnaland
Mary Alice Hinnaland, 84, died Feb. 10, 2026, at the Mc-Cone County Health Centerin Circle.
She was born to Vernon (Bud) Hart and Doris (Lauer) Hart on Oct. 23, 1941. In her younger years, the family moved around eastern Montana, from Poplar to Savage and back again, then finally settled in Circle in 1955. As the fourth of 13 children, she possessed a motherly instinct that she carried throughout her life.
After graduating from Circle High School in the spring of 1959, she soon met Robert “Bob” Hinnaland and they married on Jan. 16, 1961. As young as they were, they decided to start a family of their own, welcoming David on Oct. 3, 1961, and Wayne on Sept. 20, 1965.
She helped provide for their family by dispatching and bookkeeping for their trucking company, bookkeeping at the Farmers Union Oil and being the homemaker her family needed. When they weren’t working, she and Bob could be found attending rodeos, fishing on Fort Peck or eating breakfast at Kay’s Family Diner.
In 1990, she was promoted from “Ma” to “Grammy,” perhaps her favorite title over the years. They spent the next few decades chasing grandchildren to their respective activities and enjoying
