Our lowest temperatures this week …. Our lowest temperatures this week ….

Our lowest temperatures this week were -30 on Friday night, rising to -25 by 8:30 a.m. It is mighty cold, but it came up to -2 by the time one needed to get to the mailbox Saturday morning at 10 a.m. That’s Montana for you! Blizzard-like conditions on Wednesday, Monday, Jan 21,, were east on the Roosevelt County side of Wallstreet Road and down the Highway 250. Visibility was 15’ to ¼ mile and ½ mile on good stretches. School continued as usual.

The Lego League, coached by LGS teacher, Ms Ligia Earley, traveled to Billings to compete Saturday morning, Jan. 24, in the qualifiers for the next level of competition in Bozeman.

LCHS teams play against Nashua and Poplar this week. Next week all levels of the games will be home games, against North Country and Medicine Lake/Froid, starting at 4 p.m. and 1 p.m. respectively.

In upcoming events, the Lustre Grade School band and choir music concert, replacing the Christmas program that was postponed due to weather before Christmas, is Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the LGS gymnasium. All are welcome. The LGS Spelling Bee is Friday, Jan. 30.

The LGS released their awards on Jan. 9. The fiftheighth grades are as follows: Grades 5-6 – Sophia Mullet, Micah Zerbe, Ian Unrau, Christian Nell, Colten Miller, Harmonee Utchmann, Gavin Pancratz, Teacher, Ligia Earley. Grades 7-8: Justin Schiller, Liam Reneke, Coleman Hilkemann, Gunner Damboise, Jake Neufeld, T.J.Miller, Josef Olfert, Ava Holzrichter, Aubrey Klatt, Hannah Pancratz, Nancy Schiller, Harlo Reddig, teacher Mrs. Luanne Mullet.
