Lustre Girls Look To Add Victories This Season
With the return of several starters, Lustre’s girls’ basketball squad is looking forward to a strong season in 2025-2026.
Starters back include senior Hannah Brown, junior Lauryn Holzrichter and sophomore Lauren Fast.
Kencia Brown, an All-State guard, will be sidelined early in the season as the sophomore recovers from a knee surgery.
Other players with a fair amount of varsity experience are sophomore Sidney Klatt, freshman Samantha Neufeld, sophomore Ashtyn Traeholt and sophomore Justice Byers.
Also looking to help the Lions are freshman Tessa Olfert, freshman Grace Byers, eighth grader Harlo Reddig and eighth grader Ava Holzrichter.
Coach Lisa Neufeld feels the team’s strengths include its quickness on defense.
“Our confidence grew a lot when we played this summer,” the coach said.
She said goals include taking care of the basketball. “And to take higher percentage shots,” Neufeld said.
