Wolf Point City Council Meets

The Wolf Point City Council held its regular meeting Monday, Nov. 17.

During public comment, Noreen Hohman said that she has heard grumbles in the community about the fact that incoming Police Chief Anthony Cambridge is still not on the job in Wolf Point.

“It’s not a good way to start a position like that,” Hohman said.

Cambridge was in attendance via Zoom. He apologized for the delay and said he should be starting during the first week of December.

“I look forward to meeting everybody,” Cambridge said.

Nathan Bilyeu, a bond council attorney out of Helena, was in attendance via Zoom. He spoke about two resolutions related to financing wastewater system improvements passed by the council.

Greg Lukasik with Great West Engineering provided updates on other aspect of wastewater system improvements.

A resolution was passed by the council approving an amendment to the Rural Development Agreement. A draw request of approximately $55,000 was approved for Bridges Construction with the understanding that state and federal funding will cover the expenditure.

A motion was passed to move forward with discussions being held with Roosevelt County to consider shared costs for cleaning up vacant lots and properties in the city.
