Food Bank Seeks Donations

Area food banks and charitable organizations have been hit hard since the interruption of SNAP food assistance aid. Need has been ongoing, with food distribution days wrapping up early following runs on food pantry shelves.

Pastor Gretchen Wagner and congregants from Trinity Lutheran Church in Culbertson are calling for donations to the County Cupboard to help area families. The County Cupboard is a non-profit organization focused on ending hunger in Roosevelt County. The group is based in Culbertson.

Wagner said her goal is to “raise as much money as possible for the County Cupboard over the course of November and December.”

Wagner encourages community members to consider writing a donation check payable to the County Cupboard. Pantry organizer Ashlee Anderson will direct all funds toward grocery purchases and distribution. The mailing address for donations is PO Box 756 in Culbertson.

Collecting stock groceries is also encouraged. Items sought include saltine crackers, PopTarts, cereal, squeeze jelly (no glass), pasta, pasta sauce, Ramen noodles, instant potatoes, Spaghettios, peanut butter, Hamburger Helper, canned chicken. soup, fruit cups, applesauce and oranges.

The local food bank provides essential support to those facing food insecurity, offering nutritious groceries and resources to help families. Every dollar raised goes toward purchasing food.
