Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 93 cases during Oct. 27 to Nov. 3.
The calls included the following: Oct. 27
Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice after the report of a missing man. The male was found deceased on the north side of the bridge in Poplar. Officials checked for any wounds, and there was nothing suspicious.
Oct. 28
A male, Taylor Nygard, turned himself in at the sheriff’s office after a warrant was placed for his arrest.
A female, who lives out of state but is a tribal member, reported that she was receiving threats by another tribal member, who lives in Wolf Point, through social media. A report was made.
Deputies responded to Culbertson where an adult female reported a violation of a protection order. An inmate was having third parties contact her. The report was given to tribal prosecutors.
Oct. 29
Deputies received a report from a homeowner on U.S> Highway 2, between Wolf Point and Poplar, who said they saw a male attempting to break into a house. Law enforcement couldn’t find the suspect.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ at Albertsons for a report that a male was making threats to stab somebody. The suspect couldn’t be located.
Oct. 30
Deputies, FPTDLJ, Poplar ambulance and Poplar fire department responded to a house fire northeast of Poplar. Although the structure was badly damaged, no one was injured.
Deputies assisted Wolf Point ambulance and FPTDLJ south of Wolf Point where a female reported that she had a relative sleep over at her residence. The relative died during the night.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a report of regarding an adult female, who was taken from her home by ambulance where life-saving measures were conducted. She was declared deceased.
Oct. 31
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in Poplar where a reporting party said a relative was in the house and drunk. The male left the location, but then he came back. The male was placed under arrest by FPTDLJ.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in Wolf Point for a possible domestic dispute. It was only a verbal argument. Deputies provided a ride to Poplar for the female to be with family members.
Deputies responded to Culbertson where a 2-yearold boy was reported missing at the volleyball tournament. After a quick search, the boy was located in the school.
Nov. 1
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ in Poplar for a report of disorderly conduct. An adult male was arrested by FPTDLJ on an eight-hour hold.
During patrol, a deputy spotted a vehicle in the Town Pump parking lot in Wolf Point. The deputy knew there was a tribal warrant for the adult female owner of the vehicle. She was transported to tribal jail.
Nov. 2
Deputies responded to Frostees in Poplar for a report of a female assaulting another female. A request was made for the business to provide a video of the incident.
