Senior Profile Nefzger Enjoys Cheer, Painting At School

Cheerleading and painting are some of the favorite things for Wolf Point High School senior Emily Nefzger.

She has been a cheerleading for three years and is looking forward to serving in that capacity again this winter.

Nefzger explains that a friend encouraged her to give cheer a shot when she was a sophomore.

“I decided to try out because it looked fun,” Nefzger said.

Another activity for the senior is being part of the yearbook staff. She appreciates being able to express herself when designing a page.

Photography for yearbook is also enjoyment. “I like to be able to capture the sports,” Nefzger said. She added that basketball is her favorite sport to shoot. “I like seeing how everybody plays hard and to capture their smiles.”

Hobbies for her include painting and baking. She enjoys expressing herself when she paints. Seasonal painting is a topic that she likes.

In the classroom, her favorite subject is art class.

Her favorite teacher is Vivian Schultz.

“She’s very accepting and always helps me,” Nefzger said of Schultz.

Nefzger has attended school in Wolf Point throughout her education starting with Head Start.

“I like the community,” she said about Wolf Point. “It helps me find people.”

After high school, she plans to study dermatology. She explains she had a relative that dealt with a skin condition.

“That sparked an interest in me,” Nefzger said.
