TEB Approves Election Judges, Health Budget

The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held its regular full board meeting Tuesday, Oct. 14. The following actions and descriptions were included in the resolution log.

The board approved the Fort Peck Tribes Head Start Pre-K Program to formally partner with Frontier Public Schools under Montana Reads 2025 Grant initiative to strengthen early literacy outcomes across community.

The Language and Culture Department was authorized to apply and accept the Office of Public Instruction 2025-2026 MILP grant for $93,750, to used for the community Dakota and Nakoda youth language and culture program and for developing language material to supplement the public schools language classrooms.

The family of Sharon Red Thunder was approved to receive $500 and a star quilt for her years of service to the Fort Peck Tribes, as well as recognition for being on TEB.

The board authorized the tribal operations officer to disburse payment to Sonosky & Chambers for legal services rendered for the month of July, totaling $28,969.09.

The family of Viola Woods was also approved for $500 and a star quilt for her years of work for the Fort Peck Tribes.

Fred Big Horn was selected to serve on the tribal credit board for a term of two years.

The Fort Peck Tribes Water Resource Office request for the chairman to sign the joint funding agreement was approved, with a period of performance of Nov. 1, 2025 to Oct. 31, 2027, for operation and maintenance of multiple stream gauges on the Poplar River and Big Muddy Creek as well as technical assistance for groundwater-level data collection and compilation.

The family of Crystal Big Horn was approved for $500 and a star quilt for being a long-time employee for the Fort Peck Tribes Commodities Program.

Payment was approved to Allyson Kelley and Associates in the amount of $6,875, as a budget reconciliation payment under the Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center.

HPDP’s FY26 Tribal Health Improvement budget was approved in the amount of $6.8 million.

A contract modification renewal was approved with Addictions Consulting Group for consulting services under the Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center in the amount of $15,000.

The board approved a contract with Advance Solutions, LLC, at $600 per household, not exceed $65,000.

Election judges and security for reservation districts were approved.

TEB is the duly elected body representing the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Reservation and is empowered to act on behalf of the tribes.

All actions shall be adherent to provisions set forth in the 1960 Constitution and By-Laws.

The next regular meting is set for Monday, Oct. 27.
