Wolf Point Airport Experiences Busy August
The Montana Department of Transportation reports that August was a busy one for the L.M. Clayton Airport in Wolf Point.
The Cape Air flights in Wolf Point had 614 enplanements during the month. The total is higher than any other month in 2025 or any month during 2024.
The 614 amount puts Wolf Point at 3,918 enplanements during 2025. That compares to 4,147 enplanements through August of 2024. The months of April, May and July were more busy in 2024 than this year.
Previous months for Wolf Point in 2025 included 526 in March, 480 in April, 477 in May, 541 in June and 546 in July.
Montana has seven airports that receive money through the Essential Air Service — Butte, West Yellowstone, Glasgow, Glendive, Havre, Sidney and Wolf Point. Five of those — Glasgow, Glendive, Havre, Sidney and Wolf Point — are run through Cape Air and the federal funding subsidizes direct flights to Billings.
Enplanement figures for August of the other EAS eastern Montana airports include 1,307 in Sidney, 579 in Glasgow, 573 in Havre and 361 in Glendive, Glasgow reports 3,907 enplanements for the year through August.
Cape Air’s flights in Montana were 0.8 percent higher during August of 2025 compared to August of 2024. Flights for the year are 1 percent higher than in 2024.
There have been 11,595 enplanements for Cape Air in Billings during 2025.
