The fall days have been beautiful this week. Fog early Friday morning hampered the farmers trying to finish up combining. Crops were not super, but we are thankful for what God has provided to can, to eat from gardens and we are enjoying football, baseball and volleyball seasons.

If you are a Montana property owner and have lived in your home six months of last year, the deadline for applying for the State of Montana Property Tax Rebate is Oct. 1. If you have any questions, visit getmyrebate.mt.gov.

The Lustre Christian High School varsity volleyball team was at home Sept 19 against Frazer. The girls played well and won in three matches. On Saturday, they travel to Culbertson with the JV and junior high teams to play three matches. Next weekend, LCHS varsity and JV are home against Circle. Friday, Sept. 27, the junior high will host Frontier at 3 p.m. at LCHS, followed by the varsity against Scobey. On Saturday, Oct. 4, the junior high volleyball tournament will be in Circle.

We extend our condolences to Melissa Marasco, whose father, Rich Greybill, died Sept. 13 in Pennsylvania. The Marascos were an integral part of our community for more than 10 years as part of the LCHS faculty.

Aidan Burns, grandson of Dwaine and Vivian Wall, was privileged to run the GRIAC cross country race, which is by invitation only of their high school coaches, at the University of Minnesota campus Sept 20. He ran the “High School Boys Gopher K5” in 21:19.9, representing Mankato East High School. He is the son of LCHS alumni Heidi Burns.
