Three Charged After Standoff In Williston

At approximately 2:49 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, the Williston, N.D., Police Department was dispatched to a call from a juvenile who reported being chased by individuals in a black SUV. Through investigation, officers identified a residence in the 100 block of 11th Street East that was potentially connected to the report.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with a female at the residence, who reported additional individuals were inside and narcotics were present. Two occupants exited the residence and they advised officers that a male subject with active warrants was hiding in the basement. They also informed officers that an unsecured gun cabinet containing firearms was accessible in the basement.

Officers attempted to call the male out without success. After multiple announcements, the male subject eventually exited the residence.

A search warrant was obtained, and officers located a lever-action rifle under the bed where the male had been hiding, along with multiple items of drug paraphernalia throughout the residence.

The following individuals were arrested as a result of the investigation:

• Malachi Cloke, 19, formerly of Wolf Point, was arrested on active warrants and charged with physical obstruction of a government function (Class A misdemeanor).

• Michael Thompson, 48, was arrested on active warrants and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia - methamphetamine (Class C felony).

• Camilla Talksdifferent, 36, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia - methamphetamine (Class C felony).
