Boyd Files For Tribal Chairman Position
There are now four candidates for the position of chairman of the Tribal Executive Board. Samson E. Boyd has recently filed for the office. Other chairman candidates are incumbent Justin Gray Hawk Sr., former tribal chair John Morales and current TEB member Bryce Kirk.
Charles “Charlie” Headdress is the lone candidate for vice chairman. Bruce Cubby Damon is the lone candidate for sergeant at arms.
Individual who have filed for the council include Roxanne Gourneau, Jestin Dupree, Carolyn Brugh, Wayne Martell, Stacey Summers, Dana “Sam” Buckles, Benjamin “BJ” Johnson Jr., Melvin Terry Rattling Thunder Sr., Elizabeth Melbourne, Adrian Spotted Bird Jr., Thomas “Big Boy” Bauer Jr., Kristian Youngman, Patt Iron Cloud, Darryl Ricker Sr., Vernice Chopper, Loren “Makaicu Hoksina” Bighorn, Misty Daniels, Keyvin Brock, Tatum Evenson, Charles “Chug” Knowlton, Michelle Charboneau Trottier and Darren Long Hair.
Those who aren’t a registered voter for the Fort Peck Tribes’ election may register by appearing in person before the secretary or any member of the Tribal Executive Board before the close of registration Oct. 10 at 4:30 p.m.
Non-resident voters may register by signing the voter registration card before a notary public.
Registration for candidacy for an office of the TEB will close on Sept. 10 at 4:30 p.m. Election day is Oct. 25.
