Starting Date Planned For Next Wolf Point Police Chief
Wolf Point’s new police chief is expected to start his duties leading the Wolf Point Police Department by the end of this month.
Mayor Chris Dschaak said that Anthony Cambridge is anticipated to start on Aug. 31.
Cambridge is certified as a law officer in Vermont and Pennsylvania, but he needs to go through equivalency type training, Peace Officer Standards and Training, in Helena.
Cambridge’s experience includes serving as a police chief for about six years. He is married and the father of four children.
He was recommended by a three-person interview committee and then approved by the city’s personal policy/wage committee by an unanimous vote.
Dschaak called to make the job offer to Cambridge in early July.
The mayor said Wolf Point’s young police force will be undergoing training in the next several months. He said one officer will attend training in September, another next January and then another in April.
Dschaak said he hopes to have four officer certified during the next year.
