TEB Approves Tribal Health Interns
The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held its regular meeting June 9.
The board approved the Fort Peck Manufacturing Board of Directors’ request for funding from the finance committee in the amount of $123,000 via the revolving loan fund needed in order to cover specific past expenses and continued operations until all contracts dry up.
The board voted to accept funding in the amount of $4,320,000 for the construction of three duplexes for the Fort Peck Services Unit.
The Tribal Operations Officer was authorized to disperse payment to Sonosky & Chambers for legal services rendered for the month of April.
The TTP/IRR Program was approved to purchase a 2024 John Deere 644G Loader for $283,357.
Dallas O’Conner was approved to spray the weeds in the new cemetery in Poplar for this summer at no cost.
The Fort Peck Tribes Community Agriculture Plan was approved.
The board voted to hire Patrick Bad Bear for the adult corrections warden position and Elizabeth Chase Black Bear as an alternate pending background check.
The board authorized the solicitation for bids for the Frazer Pump Station Access Road Project Bid.
The Fort Peck Tribal Court was approved to submit a proposal for OVW grants to improve the criminal justice response Program funding. The Red Bird Woman Center was also approved to submit a proposal for OVW Grants to Indian Tribal Governments Program funding.
The creation of four summer interns under Fort Peck Tribal Health was approved. The interns will be selected from two graduate students and two undergrads students with the length of the internships being up to 15 weeks and each intern paid at $20 per hour at the maximum of 40 hours a week.
Payment in the amount of $179,620 was approved to AB Staffing Solutions for professional staffing services rendered during the period from April 10, 2024 – June 5, 2025.
The Tribal Operations Officer was approved to disburse payment to Law Office of Cher Old Elk for legal services rendered for the month of May.
The TEB is the duly elected body representing the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Reservation and is empowered to act on behalf of the Tribes. All actions shall be adherent to provisions set forth in the 1960 Constitution and By-Laws.
The next full board meeting is set for June 23.
