Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report

Recent calls by the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office included the following: April 12

Deputies and the Montana Highway Patrol responded to a report of a vehicle/train crash near County Road 1007. The two juvenile occupants of the pickup avoided major injuries. The cab of the pickup was heavily damaged. The train sustained damage to its plow.

April 21

A deputy/coroner responded to a medical emergency call in Culbertson regarding a male not responding. The male was found deceased. Deputies assisted Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney.

April 22

Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle fire at the John Deere store in Culbertson. When deputies arrived, the Culbertson Fire Department already had the fire out. A vehicle was removed from the shop.

Deputies served a warrant for the arrest of Shane Nelson, 52, of Helena, at a house in Wolf Point. The warrant was for driving a vehicle while privilege to do so is revoked or suspended. He was taken to the Roosevelt County Jail.

April 23

Deputies responded to Wolf Point’s tribal housing for a domestic disturbance. Lakota Bird was arrested by the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice on authority of a bench warrant for failure to appear and partner/ family member assault.

April 24

Deputies responded to take an assault report in Poplar. A grandmother wished to do a report about her grandson being assaulted in the juvenile detention center. A report was sent to the tribal prosecutors’ office.

Deputies received a request to remove an intoxicated female from the Corner Bar in Poplar. Erin Follette, 35, was charged with disorderly conduct and public intoxication.

April 25

Deputies assisted FPTDLJ and Poplar ambulance when a male called to report he was stabbed and needed help. Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a search after a search warrant was obtained.

April 26

Deputies responded to the Poplar hospital after receiving a report that a patient refused to leave the waiting room. An adult male was provided a ride to his home.

Deputies received a report of a possible gunshot heard in Culbertson. Neighbors believed it was possibly a large firework.

April 28

Deputies assisted Culbertson ambulance on a report of an elderly female falling out of bed.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s report activity statistics for the past week were: Wolf Point city limits, seven; Wolf Point rural, two; Poplar city limits, 20; Poplar rural, two; Poplar FPHA airport addition, two; Poplar FPHA all other, 10; Culbertson town, eight; Culbertson rural, six; Bainville town, five; Bainville rural, 15; Froid Town, two; Froid rural, two; Brockton town, seven; Brockton rural, six; Fort Kipp, six; total, 99.
