Isabelle Youngman

Isabelle “Izzy” Youngman, “Carry the Water”, 73, died April 4, 2025.

She was born April 19, 1951, to Douglas Sr. and Eva (Iron-Ring) Youngman. She was the seventh oldest out of 11 siblings: sisters Eloise, Wilma, Delores, Vicki and Donna Youngman and brothers Cyril, Dewayne, Darrell, Tommy and Douglas Jr. Youngman.

She was raised by aunt Florence Martell in Medicine Lake until she was sent to boarding school in Pierre, S.D., in 1963. After attending Pierre, she went to Flandreau boarding school and graduated in 1972. She continued her education at Haskell and Dawson Community College where she graduated in 1976.

After college, she went to work. She had many jobs in Wolf Point and Poplar. She made many friends working at Head Start, A& S Industries, Poplar Schools and Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center, when she had to leave for medical reasons. She loved working with children and started her own daycare with the Fort Peck Tribes for about two years.

She adopted Francis Youngman
