Mathilda Wagner

Mathilda Wagner, 91, died Monday, March 31, 2025, at McCone County Health Center in Circle.

She was born to Fredrick and Elizabeth (Koppenstein) Kron on Sept. 26, 1933, in Fundu-Sarazika, Bessarabia. At age 16, in December 1949, she and her family came to the United States by ship.

She was working at Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City when she was introduced to Roy Wagner. They were married on March 3, 1956, at the EUB Church in Circle.

In 1962, they moved to the family farm where they raised their four children, Deanna, Donald, Darryl and Arlen.

In 1976, she began working at the McCone County Health Center where she worked for many years.

In June 2022, she moved into the McCone County Nursing Home where she remained until her death.

She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. She was a hard worker as a helpmate with the farming, milking cows, hauling bales, etc., and gardening and canning to provide food for her family.
