James Iron Bear Sr.

James K. “Son” Iron Bear Sr., 62, died May 17, 2024, in Poplar.

He was born to Mary Red Feather and Harry IronBear Sr. on Oct. 27, 1961, in Poplar. He attended school in Poplar.

In 1985, he enlisted in the Army. Around the same time, he met Lanelle R. Ricker. Together, they had four children, Jessica, Carrie, Brittany and James IronBear Jr.

He worked most of his life to provide for his family. He worked at A& S Industries, various other places and ASWRSS until he retired in 2019.

He enjoyed being home with his grandchildren. He loved being with family and loved talking to his sisters and brothers. He would always joke around, laugh and listen to his rock music. In his early years, he liked to cruise around.

He is survived by his children, Jess, Carrie, Brittany and James Jr. of Poplar.; numerous grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Buckles, Linda
