The National Weather Service is reporting that the potential for flooding has increased significantly in the last two weeks.

According to NWS Glasgow staff, the chance of flooding in the area was at 30 percent to 40 percent but with nearly 20 inches of snow across the area in the last weeks, the potential has increased significantly.

NWS is reporting that the snow water equivalent is now up to 4-6 inches in some locations in Valley County and elsewhere in the area.

There is now a 98 percent chance of minor flooding on the Milk River at Glasgow and a 65 percent chance of moderate flooding and 20 percent chance of major flooding, says NWSG.

Glasgow’s weather station is already at its third snowiest March on record at 17.8 inches with more to come.
