Defendants Change Pleas In District Court

Three defendants changed their pleas during hearings in district court on Wednesday, March 15.

Joshua Edward Franke changed his plea to guilty for the possession of dangerous drugs. He admitted to being in the possession of meth in Roosevelt County on Feb. 9, 2023.

Maximum penalties for the charge are a sentence of five years, a $5,000 fine or both.

District judge David J. Cybulski ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.

Christine Suzanne Amy changed her plea to guilty for possession of dangerous drugs. She admitted to being in the possession of fentanyl in Roosevelt County on May 30, 2022.

Maximum penalties for the charge are a sentence of five years, a $5,000 fine or both.

Cybulski ordered a pre-sentencing investigation.

Jody Vasquez changed his plea to guilty for aggravated assault. He admitted to striking the victim three or four times.

Maximum penalties for the charge are a sentence of 20 years, a fine of $50,000 or both.
