Wolf Point Welcomes Eastern C For Tournament

Wolf Point is hosting the Eastern C basketball tournament from Wednesday, March 1, through Saturday, March 4.

The tournament will consist of a total of 16 teams, with eight teams in both the boys’ and girls’ brackets.

Wolf Point activities director Eric Peterson says a total of 26 games will be played. The top two teams will advance to the Class C state tournament.

Squads in the tournament include Lustre Christian, Scobey, North Country, Nashua, Fairview, Froid/ Lake, Bainville, Savage, Plentywood, Culbertson, MonDak and Circle.

Organizers are still in need of volunteers especially for taking tickets and serving as concession cashiers.

If interested in helping, contact Peterson at the school or Julie D’Ambrosio at the Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture at 406653-2012.

Volunteers can also call Jeff Presser at 406-653-1310 or 406-650-1310.

Assistance with concessions is especially needed for Saturday, March 4.

Wolf Point activities director Eric Peterson said donations for school officials’ and coaches’ hospitality room would also be appreciated.

“We can always use donations of treats for the hospitality room,” he said.

The tournament is expected to be a very well-attended well, especially with Lustre Christian fielding its best boys’ basketball squad in years. North Country’s girls are considered one of the best teams in the state.

Area restaurants are encouraged to stay open later than normal to accommodate the teams and their fans.

“We want to be great hosts,” Peterson said.
