County Library Board Covers Several Topics

The Roosevelt County Library board met on Feb. 11 to discuss a variety of topics.

Regarding a strategic plan, a decision was made to have focus groups gather to discuss what is needed and desired in the plan. A goal is have public meetings in both Wolf Point and Culbertson.

The Froid Library received a donation from the community fund drive. The library was also approved for a grant from the Nyquist Foundation. The library offers an AWE computer specifically for children. The computer is not connected to the internet, and it’s preloaded with more than 70 programs covering reading, math, science, social studies, writing, art, music and a reference section.

The library network upgrade project is now completely finished.

The main library has received 1,000 3D glasses to hand out to the public during upcoming solar eclipses.

The Valentine craft day attracted 16 participants.

Two reading challenges are active. The Friends of the Library is sponsoring the St. Patrick Day’s challenge that runs from Feb. 1 to March 17. The second challenge, also sponsored by the Friend of the Library, has students reading books from any country or state from Feb. 1-Dec. 31.

Montana First Lady Susan Gianforte has contacted the library to be a partner in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
