Buffalo Harvest Rescheduled For March 10

The Fort Peck Community College Buffalo Harvest has been re-scheduled for Friday, March 10.

The entire campus community is welcome to participate and experience the FPCC Buffalo Harvest, which was postponed from December because of a winter storm.

“We especially want to encourage our students and their families to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity,” said a press release from organizers.

“This will be a one-day event where we travel out to the Fort Peck Tribes’ Turtle Mound Buffalo Ranch with Fort Peck Tribes Fish and Game to harvest in the morning, then transport our buffalo back to the college to start the hide preservation process and quarter the meat to allow it to hang,” the release noted.

For more information about joining in, contact Elijah Hopkins with Student Services at 406-768-6370 or ehopkins@fpcc.edu.
