Volunteers Needed To Help With Eastern C

Wolf Point will host the Eastern C basketball tournament for the first time since 2018, and organizers want the event to be a great experience for everyone March 1-4.

The tournament will consist of a total of 16 teams, with eight teams in both the boys’ and girls’ brackets. Wolf Point activities director Eric Peterson says a total of 26 games will be played. The top two teams will advance to the Class C state tournament.

Organizers are still in need of volunteers especially for taking tickets and serving as concession cashiers. If interested, contact Peterson at the school or Julie D’Ambrosio at the Wolf Point Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture at 406-653-2012.

Volunteers can also call Jeff Presser at 406-653-1310 or 406-650-1310.

“We need a lot of help,” Presser said.

Assistance with concessions is also needed for Saturday, March 4.

Peterson said donations for school officials’ and coaches’ hospitality room would also be appreciated.

“We can always use donations of treats for the hospitality room,” he said.

The tournament is expected to be a very well-attended well, especially with Lustre Christian fielding its best boys’ basketball squad in years. North Country’s girls are considered one of the best teams in the state.

Area restaurants are encouraged to stay open later than normal to accommodate the teams and their fans.

“We want to be great hosts,” Peterson said.
