Buck Elk Gains Photography Experience In Culbertson

Culbertson senior Peyton Buck Elk enjoys what he sees through the lens of his camera.

Buck Elk, who serves as a photographer for Culbertson’s annual staff, Buck Elk says he likes taking “real life” photos the best. He also likes shooting basketball and other sports photos.

“I take a photo with a feeling toward it,” Buck Elk explained.

Another activity that he is involved in is track where he competes in the 1600-meter run and the high jump.

“It’s good exercise for me,” he explained.

Hobbies include drawing, reading and running.

He enjoys reading both fiction and non-fiction works. “I like the old school,” Buck Elk said.

His favorite classes are history, biology and “sometimes math.”

Buck Elk doesn’t pick just one favorite teacher. “I like all of them.”

He adds that advisor Keri Hauenstein is a role model for him.

Buck Elk plans to attend college and study electrical engineering.

He’s pleased that he attended school in Culbertson.

“It’s a peaceful town,” he said.
