County Receives Bid For Evidence Storage Building

Roosevelt County received one bid for creating a new storage building for the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office.

During a special meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 17, county commissioners were notified of the bid from Corland Construction of Sidney. The total bid was $365,250 for the traditional wood frame building.

Commissioner Gordon Oelkers made the motion to take the bid under advisement and have Interstate Engineering review the required information. Commissioner Robert Toavs seconded the motion, which passed by a 3-0 margin.

“We will discuss it and look it over carefully,” Oelkers said.

American Rescue Plan Act funds are anticipated to pay for the project.

Commissioner Gary Macdonald said that originally the plan was for the building to be cold storage and have a dirt floor, but the plan now is to have the building heated.
