DES Urges Residents To Use CodeRED

Roosevelt County DES coordinator Lindsey McNabb reminds citizens that the county has implemented CodeRED, a high-speed emergency mass notification provided by Ormond Beach, Fla., based OnSolve, LLC. The CodeRed system serves as the backbone of the Roosevelt County emergency planning and communications outreach to both citizens and staff. The system sends telephone calls, text messages, emails and posts to social media channels to inform residents to better protect life and property.

CodeRed was selected for its reliability and accuracy, as well as the system’s wide spread adoption rates across the United States.

All residents living within Roosevelt County are encouraged to visit https:// rooseveltcounty.org/aboutus/ newsand-events/ and click on the CodeRed logo to enroll their contact information including cell phone numbers, text and email addresses. No one should automatically assume they are in the emergency contact database. You can register for CodeRed alerts by going to https://public. coderedweb.com/CNE/en-US/ BF3A37027A24. You can register on your Smartphone by texting “ALERTROOSEVELT” to 99411.

McNabb said that the Roosevelt County DES’ emergency planning committee is working on a full-scale exercise regarding an unknown explosion at the Poplar School.

The DES board holds quarterly meetings.
